Learning a new skill can sometimes take longer than one expects. Such is the cause of this post’s delay. This was my favorite sweater last autumn. I probably wore it once a week. Then a tiny, little puppy came along, with her tiny, little, needle-like puppy teeth, and this sweater paid the price. It was nothing malicious, mind you, just an accidental snag, but still. My favorite sweater gone in an instant. The sweater went into the refashion pile and languished for a year. Then, a couple weeks ago when I darned that lavender cardigan, I was reminded of this orange pullover. Strange as it sounds, I actually really enjoyed darning. So I pulled out the sweater and patched up the hole. Unfortunately, unlike the lavender cardigan, I didn’t have any matching yarn this time. Also, this hole was in a more noticeable spot on the front of the sweater. So I decided to try my hand at some embroidery. I remembered seeing this embellished sweater on Pinterest and thought it would be the perfect Pinspiration for this project. I used some of the leftover yarn from my knitted vest refashion a few weeks ago. One little flower went right over the darned spot. Then I just started making little flowers all over, getting closer together toward the collar and spacing them out more further away. I even continued the little flowers with a few on the sleeve and back. I have a feeling this sweater will become a favorite once again.
