I’m thrilled to show some impressions of the rock shader i worked on for the unfortunately canceled Project Black __________________________________________________ Together with our talented and passionate art crew i helped bringing the very distinguished painterly art style into Unreal Engine 5. My main responsibility beside asset creation was establishing a texturing pipeline, workflows and shader support. The goal was to achieve a painterly look with minimum use of unique baked textures. The shader is based on a mask approach in combination with painterly tiling patterns. Colors are defined by Curves inside Unreal.
